4 month old check up

Our little man got all checked out today. His last check up with our favorite pediatrician, Dr. Henry. He's 16 lbs, 9 oz and is 24 1/2" long. Yes, that's in the 90th percentile for weight as we suspected and the 50th for height. Lot's of nice pats on the back for Mom for growing such a hefty guy on only breast milk - I knew eating ice cream was a good thing. Everything is perfectly normal - even those thighs - and we were told that breastfed babies get a bad rap for plumping up at this stage. They slim down around 6-9 months so that will be interesting to see. Dr. Henry pronounced his head the "most perfectly shaped head he's ever seen". Turns out that our natural laziness of changing his direction in the crib is a good thing because he hasn't developed a flat spot or bump on the front of his head.

Fin also got his second round of immunizations today. Poor little guy - he really wasn't so thrilled about the whole exam table and the noise the paper on it made anyway. I could tell in his eyes he knew something was up when the nurse came in. Boy are his lungs getting bigger too! Ear piercing screams and tears galore. I wouldn't be so thrilled about 3 needles either. But, after some hugs and kisses and consoling words, he calmed down and slept in the car all the way home. One more round down!
